As we reflect on 2022, the Connectivity Standards Alliance experienced a milestone year. Not only did we celebrate our twentieth anniversary in July, we launched Matter, thanks to the time, talent, and collaborative efforts of nearly 300 Matter Working Group Members. Following the specification’s release, we kept the Matter momentum rolling with a global media Matter launch event in Amsterdam, making headlines worldwide.
Our community continued to experience tremendous growth, with nearly 600 Member companies and reaching another milestone of more than 5,000 certifications. In 2022, 359 new Zigbee Certified Products and Platforms and 228 Matter certifications were completed or in review, with hundreds more in the pipeline. This year also brought noteworthy branding moments with the launch of the Alliance's new website, further demonstrating our commitment as a leader in shaping and defining the future and foundation of IoT.
With such an abundance of accomplishments, it seems fitting to close the chapter on 2022 by reflecting on all that our IoT community has achieved together over the past year.

It has been a truly monumental year working alongside Members and Staff as we propel our efforts forward, expanding our collective breadth and depth of influence. These achievements wouldn't be possible without everyone’s focused and dedicated efforts, and for that, we are filled with gratitude.
Looking ahead to 2023, we’re extending our global reach, connecting with stakeholders, consumers, and regulators, who will adopt and benefit from Alliance technologies, while expanding value for our existing Members. Our relationships with media, policymakers, and security experts will deepen, and we’ll continue momentum with Zigbee’s R23 release and Matter's anticipated Spring and Fall releases.
As we embark on a new year, the Alliance remains focused on our mission, vision, and the collaborative spirit of what we can—and will—accomplish together.
We wish you a happy, healthy holiday season and a joyous new year!
