IFA 2024: Matter and the Sustainable Smart Home
On September 8th, President & CEO Tobin Richardson joined Wi-Fi Alliance CEO Kevin Robinson and BSH Home Appliances Group' Stefanie Lipps for a panel discussion on "Industry Collaboration for a Sustainable Smart Home with Matter," moderated by Josephine Watson from TechRadar.
Matter & Wi-Fi Alliance Launch Refreshed One-Pager In 2023, the Alliance proudly partnered with Wi-Fi Alliance on the Wi-Fi CERTIFIED® and Matter One-Pager. This August, an updated version was released emphasizing the benefits of combining Wi-Fi CERTIFIED® with Matter. Alongside the update, a collaborative social media campaign was launched to showcase these advantages and spotlight the refreshed content.
In May, we were thrilled to announce our newly established Japan Interest Group! This Group, made up of volunteer Members, is focused on Alliance technologies and the IoT market in Japan. Their aim is to promote awareness of Alliance activities, engage in Japan-based IoT events and programs, and propose technical updates to meet Japan’s regional requirements.
The Alliance continues to have a strong presence within IoT industry publications. You’ll find the Alliance and our Members in high-ranking publications such as The Verge, Techradar, CNET, and more!

Global Security Challenge, Single Certification Solution Webinar
Alliance Promoter Member Steve Hanna of Infineon Technologies led a successful webinar in June, explaining the Product Security Certification Program, a single certification test that qualifies a product to receive the certifications and labels needed for global sales. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session.

First Ever Matter Open Day in Guangzhou, China!
On July 8th, the Connectivity Standards Alliance Member Group China (CMGC) hosted the world's first Matter Open Day event in Guangzhou, China. More than 40 companies showcased the latest Matter designs, products, solutions, and user experiences and saw an impressive turnout of more than 450 attendees. Thank you to everyone who participated!
